- ZTE announced on March 26, 2011 that the company has inked an one-year agreement with WiMAX carrier P1 (Packet One Networks) for P1's WiMAX network expansion project in Malaysia, according to a press release by ZTE. As per the agreement, ZTE is expected to provide technical assistance and solutions, as well as WiMAX equipment, network planning and design, engineering services, and network optimization. It is reported that P1's expansion project aims to deploy WiMAX equipment in more than 450 new cities throughout Malaysia, and the company plans to expand its WiMAX coverage to over 900 cities by the end of 2011.
